Our vision is to joyfully participate with God as He redeems and rehabilitates our city spiritually, socially, and physically.
Our mission is to glorify God by establishing a diverse new family, Southside Community Church, which delights in God and seeks to bless all the members of our Southside neighborhood.
Praying: We believe prayer is foundational to neighborhood restoration. We do not just pray for the work but acknowledge that prayer is the real work of the Kingdom. God calls his people to “Seek the peace and
prosperity of the city to which I have carried you… Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper” (Jeremiah 29:7).
Serving: We are seeking to meet needs in our community by ‘walking as Jesus walked” coming not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45). God’s promise of the restoration of His people and His city in Zechariah 8:4-5 gives shape to our serving: “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets… each with cane in hand because of his age. The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.'” We believe God has called us to serve the Southside by especially serving young people.
Connecting: We are eager to connect people with God, one another, themselves, and the resources and beauty of God’s creation. We are seeking connections across racial, socio-economic, religious, and generational divides. We want to learn how to love our neighbors.
Worshipping: We were built for worship. We were designed to enjoy and glorify God. We want to invite people into the wonderful privilege of delighting in God. We want all that we do to flow out of worship, result in
worship, be worship.
We would love for you to pray and serve and connect and worship with us in this new, growing family called Southside Community Church.
